You will expect to see during CES.

iPhone Firmware 1.1.3 leaked?

Sorry for any readers that stopped by here yesterday or day before yesterday. I was a little caught up with something else. This big news just came in two days ago. iPhone new firmware 1.1.3 was leaked on the internet. If it's true, the firmware will be packed with updates for SMS multiple recipient functionality, Google Maps My Location and Hybrid View, and also menu rearrangement that should bring SDK. If that's all, then it's really a pain in the *** and another year of dissapointment. Meanwhile, this is the video of the menu rearrangement video

Nokia asking permission for iTunes

A few months back, Nokia launched their Ovi media portal for Nokia users. Now, Vanjoki is seeking permission from Steve Jobs to use the mighty Apple iTunes for use in Ovi service. However, all you can expect from Steve is just a bag of words saying how could it work. Vanjoki added that it would bring enrichment to their Ovi service for iTunes to be in the family.

Nominations for best gadgets of 2007

2007 is over, so it's time for nominations!!The rules is simple. All you have to do is tell me in the comments section which gadgets you think that really rock out this year. It can be a cell phone or a smartphone, mp3 player or anything that is out there, I don't care. If able, tell me why you like it.

RIM developing new BlackBerry keyboard?

If you've been astounding friends and family with your thousands-of-words-per-minute typing skills on your Blackberry, RIM's latest patent may come as a bit of a heart-stopper!!
According to "recent" filings from the smartphone manufacturer, a new style of keyboard is on the table which may move your familiar key placement into a slightly more angular position. The purpose of the proposed pad is ostensibly to improve accuracy by creating a more "natural" placement for your thumbs -- though this concept might be a little more effort than required. Of course, since all kinds of crazy designs get filed with the patent office, we wouldn't put too much faith in this seeing the light of day, though it is an intriguing look into RIM's design process.

Anyway, no ones makes the best keyboard other than RIM, right?

ModBook almost ready to ship?

The long delayed Axiotron ModBook since last yr or early this year was reported from jkontherun that it will start shipping their ModBook(basically a MacBook converted into a touchscreen face) at MacWorld 2008 with Leopard and other stuff.
This books will be sold starting at a price of $2279.

People take note that this ModBook that I mentioned above is not from Apple but Axiotron. However, there are rumours of Apple in the make of a Mac Tablet too. So, fingers crossed everybody. If it's totally true, it's up to you then to make a decision between Apple's Mac Tablet or Axiotron's ModBook.

You can also check the preview of the product at http://www.tuaw.com/2007/01/13/s/

Apple's Next App details automatic iPod volume lowering

In the past, we have seen Apple enabling users to set volume limits on their iPods. That is cool but, this newly reported app that would appear in next iPods. Reportedly, this app could help users to tone down your music when it's not right for health. This app could track your music volume for how long and how high. When it comes to no good for you, it will automatically lower down the volume and protect your health.
However, no word on when or what Apple would be implementing this thing on a product, maybe sometime in MacWorld event nxt Jan.

Asus Exceeds Expectations By Shipping 350K Eee PC In A Quarter

Eventhough everybody including me have no idea that Asus could shipped such amount of Eee PCs, it seems very clear that this little guy above attracted many mild or on-the-go users. With minimum specs, built-in chatting needs like SD slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Webcam and also a very affordable price starting from only $299/RM 1299 with 1GB memory(not RAM, it's not a mistake), young teen would be grabbing this guy. Anyway, Asus is planning to launch this PCs into Best But in the U.S. and also Japan. For people who would like to know more about this little bugger, feel free to head down to aus.com and also cnet review of this product. My point of view, you definitely should grab one of this if you are a mild consumer and don't wan't that extra hassle when traveling, and certainly don't need to have lot of space but also can pop in extra SD cards whenvever you need it. And boy, let me remind you. It's extremely hot on the market.

KTF To Market iPhone in South Korea

Korea Times writes that KFT,with help from NTT Docomo (which has recently made iPhone news), is still hopeful it will sell the iPhone in South Korea next year. Executive Vice President Kim Yeon-hak says that Steve Jobs has been playing hardball. The South Korean market is small and without a Japanese partnership, Apple may decline to offer the unit in Korea at all. Still, it's unconfirmed.

New Touchscreen BlackBerry ?

According to BGR, this BlackBerry(named 9000 or 9100) will be packing with only 2.5 G and the same 4.3.2 OS with only a redesigned QWERTY input keyboard and also 480x320 display. So sorry for you BlackBerry addicts out there, it's just a pity Edge . Oh, but did I mention, it's also coming with 802.11 a/b/g wi-fi networks. Anyway, it's not completely over, it could be another surprise for this one in early 2008(set TBR around that time.) Fingers crossed, guys.

Apple Patents Show New Hi-Fi?

The patent for this device labels as an iPod BoomBox. Looking at the picture, it seems to me that nothing has changed a lot. However, there should be an Apple Remote to make certain music controls while object 118 is not specified and we have to wait and see, let's just hope it is something good.

Spotted Nokia N96!!

According to Mobile Reviews, this pictures are believed to be the Nokia N96(kinda looks like a mock up of N81). According to multiple sources, this device will come pack with 5 MP camera, witha dual led flash and a black body. You can get a look at the device at http://www.mobile-review.com/fullnews/main/index_eng.shtml#17268

Sony Following The Multi-Touch Trend Now?

Yesterday, Sony unveiled new optical multi-touch LCD display tech and is going to feature 3.5 inch screen, 640x480 pixel resolution is made of what Sony's calling "low-temperature polysilicon thin-film transistor" tech, and it supports up to 5 fingers at a time and also pen input as well. However, no word on where Sony is popping this display on .

Not Again, Nokia.

First, the triple slider concept, and now an N-gage concept. This patent shows that Nokia is getting serious in portable gaming . This should come as a N-gage revamp(probably version 2). Whatever it is, it would be something like a dualshock 2 controller that Playstations use. Just hope it's not like a bummer bulky device like the original N-Gage device.

iPod Video, Say Hello To iPod Touch!

For iPod users out there that are not giving up on your 5G/5.5G iPod Video, you can head down to ipodhacking.com(link will be paste below) and grab a copy of the modified firmware. You will get almost the same UI you get on an iPod Touch. Anyhow, you are not getting a touchscreen :p . Anyone who is getting this should be aware that this is not Apple certified and proceed with own risk. You must also get a copy of iPodWizard software to patch this firmware onto your iPod. However, 99% possibility in this process will not brick your iPod.

Is This The MotoZine?

A couple of weeks ago, the Motorola ZIne series is so hot on the wheels. A leaked spy shot via it168 was very convincing about the Zine we were talking about. According to the site, the Z12 should be scheduled to release in mid January and will come pack with 5 MP camera and wi-fi and GPS. Only then we will know was it worth it to Zine it!

Nokia Making MagSafe Charging Jacks?

Nokia is making it's phones ports and jacks into magnetic ones, just like Apple's MagSafe ones. Why don't you do that in the first place, huh? That could prevent people from breaking their cellphones. Anyway it is very good and we will look forward to it.

Rear Projection TVs to Go?

San Diego – Sony will exit the rear projection TV category to focus on flat-panel LCD TV after current inventories of its 3LCD- and SXRD-based products are exhausted, a company spokesman confirmed.
“We are moving our resources more toward LCD TV, because that’s what people really want,” a Sony spokesman said, confirming a published report.
The company began telling select retailers about the decision following several months of study, the spokesman said, adding that Sony will continue selling front projection products through its custom home theater division.
The decision came despite the fact that Sony ranked second in the category for sell-through, with 28 percent of the U.S. market through November, behind Samsung, according to The NPD Group. Sony rear projection sets were also No. 1 in shelf-share at 31.77 percent in November, according to Current Analysis West, an NPD Group company.
Sony’s decision comes as the market for rear projection products continues to compress under advances in flat-panel TV technologies to larger screen sizes and ever-declining prices.
DisplaySearch, an NPD Group company, forecasts North American sales of 1.6 rear projection sets in 2008, down from 3.1 million in 2006. The firm is calling for total rear projection sales of about 670,000 in 2008.
Sony’s decision to drop the rear projection category to focus on flat-panel TV follows similar recent decisions by Philips, Toshiba and Hitachi, and leaves Samsung, Mitsubishi, RCA, Panasonic and JVC as the major players in the segment.Manufacturers remaining in rear projection are now moving to larger screen sizes, offering a better value than either plasma or LCD flat-panel sets.

Another Updates Party

Let's keep it short here. For Zune fans, 2.3 firmware update has released and brought bug fixes for battery improvements, longer lasting battery lives and stops there. Meanwhile, Apple just released some software updates for MacBook Keyboard bugs and looses the freezes you get when using it with Leopard.

So hurray for me and other Mac users!!!

Could this be the Mylo 2?

Guys at Engadget were doing some cross search for the new-coming Mylo 2 that is supposed to be released just around the corner. Well, guess what? A picture of Mylo 2 was spotted at QJ.net that looks almost like the one that FCC render that the guys over there saw a couple of days ago. anyhow for people who don't know what is the Mylo, It's by Sony and it is a portable handheld device for web surfing, VOIP and more.

Dell Latitude XT Costing Too Much?

Yes, Dell Latitude Xt is now available from Dell. But wait, it costs $2500!!That is crazy for a tablet!! Ridiculous!! Eventhough it does has the capacitive touch, the dual-input and cool multi-touch swiping on the screen, but 2500 is way too much. Expecting for a price drop soon, huh Dell?

Are U sure , Nokia?

There was a time when people was so shocking when Nokia unveiled the Nokia N95 dual slider phone. The concept above has been named triple slider concept and may show up in 2010, maybe.According to the picture, the device would feature a numeric keypad, a QWERTY keyboard and also the Nokia N95 slide music controls. For one thing, the device would be very bulky unless they could come up with a super freaking thin keyboard Only time will tell when this concept really show up as a real device.

Santa Steve In Japan?

According to the Wall Street Journal Asia, Jobs and Co are in Japan working out the details for a domestic iPhone launch. It's no surprise then that Jobs was rumored to have just met with NTT DoCoMo's president, Masao Nakamur, to discuss the deal with the largest carrier in the world's second-largest economy. As usual, Apple seems to be playing the carriers off one another with rumors that The Steve is courting Softbank as well. However, "people familiar with the situation" say that DoCoMo is the first choice. While the revenue sharing is a sticking point as usual, WSJA says that Apple doesn't expect to have any difficulty closing the deal. Funny, that's what everyone was saying about Vodafone in Europe.

It's Down. Firmware updates for PS3 and PSP!!

Yup, like I said earlier today. The rumours were true. PS3 3.80 and PSP 2.10 firmware updates were released just now and yes, the divx support and the others and also the voice changer thing. Guys at Gizmodo have tried the divx out and it worked out fine but not as fantastic as on XBox 360. You can know why over at http://www.gizmodo.com/.

Could It Be The Penryn?

Could this be the laptop we have been waiting to premiere with Intel's brand new rumoured to be announced on Jan 6th Penryn? This Fujitsu packs with 12.1 inch size LCD, LED-backlit, up to 4GB ram, 120GB HD,dual layer DVD writer,SDHC slot,PMCIA slot, Gigabit Ethernet,802.11a/b/g and etc. It will be announced sometime in January and if it's real, it would be Penryn!

Yeahh, It's 2.10

It keeps going on and on . It's PS3 update, for god sakes! Ya, they saw a recent posting at the Sony's European site showing an announcement of version 2.10 for PS3 on Dec 18. That is tomorrow for the europeans. There will be several changes and extras like the Divx support and bluray profile 1.1 . Consumers can soon be able to get hold of the Voice changer feature that changes your asian voice into something else...

Finally, Palm Treo 755P on Verizon!!$400?

Lookie look what they got for you diehard Palm fans, a Palm Treo contract with Verizon. Basically, it's nothing different than the original one. According to Verizon, it's just the new paint job and a Verizon Logo on the top right corner. Actually it's kinda pricey comparing to the ones you can get from Sprint. It differs by a hundred bucks. Anyway, hurray!!!

Seriously, it's not that bad,right?

It's been five years now, that everyone in the world were using Windows old XP. And then Microsoft finally released their new "Vista" that was supposed to make us Wow'ed!! It turned out crappy and so annoying because of the long list of hardware requirements, blah blah blah. I mean who wants to upgrade when it's so hard to use it in daily life. Plenty of software incompatibility during the launch, lots of bugs, slow response....... WHat a major dissapointment!!!! Glad that PC World had rated Vista the NO.1 Biggest Tech dissapointment of 2007, take that. MSFT, another five years , maybe??

Yeah, Apple!

Ok, It's about time Apple lose those extra charges for ringtones and open us to custom ringtones. As an update, Apple now let us to use GarageBand to use any song we desire and send it to iTunes and then sync back to our iPhone. Done deal, no money required or hidden charges. Check out more at http://informationweek.com/blog/main/archives/2007/12/apple_officiall.html

Apple Releases QuickTime Update, Stops Malicious Hole

Apple just released a new QuickTime update to cover the SRTP hole that surfaced a moth or more ago. There were rumours claming a drop on flash in QuickTime and leaving it to Adobe. Check out http://www.itwire.com/content/view/15806/53/ for more info and links to download the newest update.

iFish was old news.iPond?

Well, I got this from Gizmodo. An Portable speaker for iPods that comes pack with a fish tank called iPond!Whacky!! First an iFish that lights and wiggles, then iPond with speakers and fish. Over in Australia, pet shops were spotted selling this little speakers with fish tank with fishes. Cool but how long would the fish be able to live?? 2 weeks?Poor guys!

Beat that, suckers!!iPhone Dominates!!

Canalys recently filed a report of smartphones market share of 2007.Among participants are RIM(Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Symbian, Linux, Palm and iPhone.

It was shocking cause for a little time period in the year, not even a whole full year, to be exact since June 29, Apple was able to grab a whopping total of 27% market share , leaving all behind except for RIM, that pushed iPhone to second spot. Comparing to others that tried to achieve this position for years now and available from not one, but various cellular networks around U.S, Apple did it in just a couple of months!!

Although RIM is at top spot, but it won't kept running at the top spot for long. A 3G iPhone might bring big forces to Apple and peer pressure on RIM and others. However, Best wishes to you, Apple! It's me, Apple FanBoy

Santa Arrested?

SANTA'S FACTORY, North Pole (Agencies) - An Imperial Stormtrooper commando broke into Santa's Factory in the North Pole yesterday evening, killing an undetermined number of elves, arresting the owner and confiscating his sled. Joe Kwazansky, local spokesman for the Evil Galactic Empire in Los Angeles, appeared in a press conference this morning confirming the rumors of an Imperial takeover of Christmas' celebrations. "The Emperor wants to assure His subjects that Xmas will continue as planned. The pug-nosed fatso, however, will pay for his crimes," Mr. Kwazansky said amidst the palpable shock in the press corps. Apparently, the arrest has occurred in connection with earlier reports on the manufacturing and stealth placement of Weapons of Mass Destruction:
Answering questions about the causes of this assault and Santa Claus' detention, Mr. Kwazansky pointed out that Imperial Intelligence had undeniable proof of Santa's production of WMDs at his factory located near the North Pole. "He is also a perv, you know," he added, "a guy who goes around his house clad in red velvet and has underaged boys assisting him all day long. Illegal sex? Forced labor? You gotta be kidding. We have the patent on forced labor too. Ask the wookies."
Later in the press conference, Mr. Kwazansky, 48 years old and still living with his parents, revealed that Santa may have been stealing industrial secrets from Imperial-exclusive defense contractor Sienar Fleet Systems. "And what's with the bloody flying reindeers anyway?" he said, "how the Force do they fly? I bet they have Twin Ion Engines up their butts. That's classified technology, people. Fatso is finishing his days in the Great Pit of Carkoon, I tell you." The spokesperson left the stage laughing maniacally, muttering something about how Santa was going to suffer for all those years of coal back at the Imperial Orphanage.
Commenting on the strike, UN's North Pole representative Kalle Jugercømmandersson said that "we don't understand this act of unprovoked agression. The North Pole has been weapons-free since 1959, when Timmy the Polar Bear was killed by a drunk seal using a 38." Then, he started sobbing, crying "and we are not little boys! We are little grown men!" out loud.
Lord Darth Vader was unavailable to comment at the time of this report.

MSFT, It's not the features, It's the Experience>GET IT?

Ok, here's the deal. We all know the OSes in smartphones all around the world, from the famous Apple iPhone OSX, Windows Mobile(WM), Symbian, Symbian UIQ, Android(TBR), Palm, Blackberry.....
So far I have two iPods, an iPod Nano(2nd Gen) and the brand new iPod Touch. What about it? The experience, the interface, the simplicity. Is it great? For iPhone users in U.S, you all know that it is far more pleasing to use the Apple's iPhone OS rather than WM or other than that, right? For yrs now, Apple had delivered fantastic simplicity and experience in their softwares,OS and etc.
What you got to get is that, it is not only about the features but also the experience and the ease of living with it. People don't want a confusing and rather annoying OS to live with. We wan't the smartphone to do the work, not make us do the work. I did in fact lived with a WM smartphone, and it was a ache in the head 24/7, you can read about the annoying features by the link at the end of this.
Let's talk about the differences. Let's take iPhone and Windows Mobile. Take opening the web browser. By default in both OSes, it's a one touch and a two-touch. Apple did created the most easiest way to navigate through their menus. You can get to Safari right in the first menu.Touch and BOOM, you're there!!For WM, by def you have to go to Start(like most windows system do),then hit the IE link. Arghhhh!!!It can go on and on and on.
What about iPhone is the UI of the iPhone. It's so simple that a small kid can pick it up between 15 mins. It's simple, it's sweet, and it's Apple. And it's attractive!
Let's summarized this thing. Microsoft, it is not you are failing or what, it's just you got to do better to make get off Apple or else it is just a failure to me. Start by making the UI simple and sleeker. Then, make it more fun. It's not the features, it's the experience!

Not All Is Lost

Still,a GPS module is coming up for the iPhone!!!Wonder how that would work??

Well lookie look

See this...Apple's iPhone is not 1st after all. Compete just surveyed the most shopped phones of 2007. Turns out it was shocking and the great mighty 3G packed, full multimedia features, touch screen with vibe touch (LG VOYAGER) took the no.1 spot right in front!!!!iPhone was kicked to the back , down to no. 4 . Are u kiddin me?? http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9833474-1.html?tag=cnetfd.mt
